Dr Rana Imani is an Assistant Professor at Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic).
She studied two BScs with the double-degree program for talented students in “Biomedical Engineering” (biomaterial) and “Polymer Engineering”. She graduated as a top student in Biomedical Engineering from the Amirkabir University of Technology in 2009. In 2010, she started an MSc in Biomedical Engineering and again graduated as a top student. Rana focused on “gene therapy” research during her PhD studies, and she also continued her PhD studies as a scholar visiting student at McGill University. Eventually, she graduated from PhD at the Amirkabir University of Technology in 2014.
Her research interests mainly include developing novel biomaterials as advanced scaffolds for tissue engineering application, injectable hydrogel for tissue engineering and drug delivery application, carrier design for drug and gene delivery, developing bioink for bioprinting technology, bioactive wound dressing, and conductive scaffolds for cardiac and neural tissue engineering. Currently, her research findings are cited in over 60 research papers, reviews, conference papers and books.
